Among the best known Japanese cultural artifacts is bushidō : the way of the samurai, an ethical and spiritual discipline that aimed to help practitioners cultivate equanimity, truthfulness and compassion in the midst of life’s uncertainties. Join us for a taste of this rich and diverse history as we explore the cultural influences that continue to inspire Maui’s Japanese-American community. Each day we’ll learn about and engage in a new Japanese art or martial art form with a master practitioner, coupled with a sensory experience of the cuisine that has come to embody the values of this magnificent civilization.
