Maika’i O’ahu: Service, Art & Culture

Join us for an unforgettable 4-day Winterim on O‘ahu! Based in comfortable, quality accommodations at the Courtyard Marriott in Waikīkī, this unique program blends service, leadership, and the arts across the island—from the vibrant energy of Honolulu, the valleys of Kāne‘ohe, and the North Shore. Students will earn up to 9 CSL hours through hands-on community projects, including traditional lo‘i service and ocean clean-ups, while engaging in guided moments of reflection designed to connect service with purpose, leadership with humility, and community with self-growth.

Beyond service, participants will explore O‘ahu’s rich arts and history through visits to Capital Modern, Bishop Museum, and ‘Iolani Palace, while savoring great food at a variety of local eateries along the way. Balanced with plenty of fun—including shopping at Ala Moana and a cinema night—this trip offers an inspiring opportunity to build lasting friendships, step into new communities, and discover the impact you can make.

Service: Earn up to 9 CSL hours through Site preservation at Maunawila Heiau Complex, and loʻi service at Papahana Kuaola
Art: Capital Modern (Hawaiʻi State Art Museum)
Culture & History: Bishop Museum, Waimea Valley, and ‘Iolani Palace visits
Fun & Dining: Shopping at Ala Moana, North Shore, Duke’s Waikīkī, a cinema night at Windward Mall, and more!
