Roll up your sleeves and power up! In this four-day woodworking Winterim, students will learn to safely use power tools and hand tools while designing and building their own projects. From measuring and cutting to sanding and finishing, every step teaches both craftsmanship and creativity. By the end of the program, students will walk away with practical skills, new confidence, and a project they can proudly say, “I built this!”
Highlights
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
Demonstrate safe use of basic power tools (drill, sander, jigsaw, etc.) and hand tools.
Read and follow a simple woodworking plan.
Accurately measure, mark, cut, and assemble wood pieces.
Apply finishing techniques (sanding, staining, painting, or sealing) for a polished look.
Practice problem-solving and creativity in project design.
Develop responsibility, patience, and pride through hands-on craftsmanship.
Take home at least one completed woodworking project of their own design.
